Dr. Jacob Boshoven
Dr. Boshoven was born in Michigan and raised in Mesa, Arizona, where his passion for science
and animal care began at an early age. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Behavior
and Neurobiology from Michigan State University in 2018 before pursuing his Doctorate in
Veterinary Medicine at St. George’s University on the beautiful island of Grenada. He returned to
his alma mater, Michigan State University, to complete his clinical training, cherishing the
opportunity to refine his skills in the same halls and clinic that first ignited his passion for
veterinary medicine.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, he settled in Plymouth, Michigan to launch his career at Roose
Animal Hospital. Dr. Boshoven feels privileged to practice alongside his mentor and uncle, Dr.
Kevin Roose, whose guidance has played a pivotal role in shaping his veterinary career. He has a
special interest in surgery and rehabilitation, continually striving to enhance the well-being of his
patients.
Beyond veterinary medicine, Dr. Boshoven is an avid photographer who enjoys hiking, camping,
free-diving, and traveling the globe. He cherishes time spent with his 13-year-old Alaskan
Malamute, Dutch.
